Biography
During her 21 years in the tech industry, Niniane has been a founder, CEO, CTO, VP at unicorn startup, advisor to VC fund, and board advisor. Niniane served as VP Engineering for Niantic (a $3.9B company that spun out of
Google), overseeing technology for Pokemon GO and components of the augmented reality platform. She
arrived at Niantic when it acquired Evertoon, the startup where she was Founder and CEO.
Previously, Niniane was Chief Technology Officer of Minted, a crowdsourced design-based marketplace
earning hundreds of millions in annual revenue. Before that, Niniane joined Google when it was around 1000
employees. She cofounded Google Desktop Search (85M weekly active users), led Gmail Ads engineering,
and won the highest award internal to Google. Prior to that, she spent 5 years as an engineering leader at
Microsoft, on a Xbox game and Flight Simulator.
Niniane serves on the board of the commerce startup Serena & Lily. She is also an advisor to Basis Set
Ventures, a $140M venture capital fund focused on AI. She is an inventor on 30 patents. She has a MS in
Computer Science from University of Washington, and a BS in Computer Science from Caltech which she
received at age 18.
